Some topics are sensitive

There is a team around you to help talk about sensitive issues should you wish to do so. You choose members of your team from the list of people that the local authority has approved to support you. The idea is to support the person that you see the most, help you in the right way first time. This is likely to be your teacher. If they need further advice and guidance there is your wider team to call on. Please go through your school based team member first (most likely this will be your teacher). They can suggest others from your team who might also help if needed.

Safeguarding

Your safety is really important to everyone at includmi. Staff using includmi have a duty of care to safeguard your wellbeing.

If there is a serious concern about your safety then this should be raised with the appropriate senior member of staff, from your setting, school or college leadership team. In England, this person is called the designated safeguarding lead.

Your team cannot promise that they will not tell anyone about a report of abuse, as this may ultimately not be in your best interests.

If we are really worried about you and think that you are at risk or danger, someone in your team will talk to you about the need for an appropriate safeguarding officer at the local authority to know what has happened or what is happening to you.

We will always:

  • Seek your consent to pass over your details, although we will ‘act’ to protect you without your consent if you are physically or legally unable to give consent.

In this case, we will:

  • Let you know who we are passing details to and why,

  • Keep you informed of any actions we intend to take,

  • Where possible, we will work with you to agree every step taken.

  • Sometimes, if the situation is very serious, we may have to take action without talking to you first.

Details of experiences of abuse and trauma are best discussed with counsellors, you can share with others your stories of overcoming difficult events but specific details should be avoided.

Publishing and downloads

On Includmi, everything that you post or submit to the site can be checked by staff members who might report what you’ve written or posted and/or take it down to make sure it doesn’t break any of the acceptable use boundaries.

  • Includmi works best if you publish things that will help the team of professionals around you help you live the life you want. The team will benefit from celebrating your achievements and aspirations but perhaps not be so interested in more trivial details like the colour of your socks. Think about what you post and comment on.

  • You can upload a file (post a video or picture) of maximum size 350Mb. Includmi needs access to your photos on your phone or tablet to do this.

  • Your local authority will have paid for you to have a particular amount of storage for your posts like a data allowance for a mobile phone contract. You are likely to be notified if you post so much that you exceed this amount. If you want to post more you will need to speak to your school or setting.

  • Sometimes a moderator might delete your post or change it slightly. Whoever moderates what you’ve written will message you to let you know if your post can’t be published

  • Documents on the site may be downloaded and used for personal, non-commercial use only

  • All rights are reserved; no part of Includmi, including information, images, photos, trademarks & logos may be copied, republished, posted, broadcast or reproduced in any form whatsoever without our prior written permission.
